Backups
|
Website owners are always responsible for backing up their files, especially where they manage their own website.
Yes, the server performs automated daily/weekly/monthly backups. In CPANEL you have the option to download those backups.
If for some unforseen reason you lose all your website data:
1.) You could use CPANEL to restore your site from one of the backups you downloaded. 2.) HQ Secure could restore your site from one of the servers archived backup tapes. There could be a charge for this depending upon the whim of the Network Operations Center
HQ Secure has never had to use server backups. No client has ever lost their files. A copy of client websites are kept where HQ Secure manages those sites.
When selecting to Generate and Download a Full Backup the backup is stored in your filespace; in the 'Home' or 'Root'. This directory sits just below public_html where your website files are. You wouldn't be able to see them there except with your CPANEL file manager or FTP program. FrontPage can't get into your root directory.
Once that backup is complete you would use your CPANEL file manager or FTP program to download that file. When you have successfully downloaded the backup file to your local computer you can delete it from the server to free up the space.
